Start with the course outline

List the topics covered during the semester. Use the official course outline, lecture schedule or other reliable course material as your checklist.

Sort topics by confidence

For each topic, mark it as strong, familiar or weak. Spend more time on weak areas instead of giving every chapter exactly the same amount of attention.

Compress your notes

Do not rewrite every page. Reduce long notes into definitions, processes, examples, formulas and questions.

Turn headings into questions

Instead of repeatedly reading a heading, ask yourself what you should be able to explain from memory.

Practise retrieval

Close your notes and explain a topic aloud or write what you remember. Then compare your answer with the original material.

Use past questions carefully

Past questions can show how knowledge is tested, but they should be used for practice rather than memorising answers.

Keep an error list

Whenever you make a mistake, record the topic and the reason for the mistake. Review this list repeatedly.

Plan short review cycles

Return to important topics more than once. Several short reviews can be more useful than one long reading session.
